Agent Capabilities

What can your agent actually do? This section is a tour of Maxi’s capabilities, grouped by domain — what’s possible in each area, and what it’s good for. Where the Operator Guide covers how to do specific tasks, this section maps out the what.

Maxi works through abilities — discrete actions your agent can call, like “create a post,” “update a product price,” or “generate an image.” You don’t invoke these directly; you ask your agent in plain language and it selects the right abilities to carry out what you asked. This section groups them by domain so you can see the shape of what Maxi can do.

Two things hold true across every capability below:

  • Everything runs as your WordPress user. An ability only does what the connected user’s role permits, and changing anything requires an administrator (see Security Model and Manage Agent Users). The capabilities here describe what’s possible; what a given agent may actually do depends on how you’ve scoped it.
  • You drive it in conversation. You don’t need to know ability names or pick them yourself — describe the outcome you want, and the agent maps it to the right actions.

Capability domains at a glance

SEOSet Yoast SEO fields on your content“Set the SEO description for this category”
System & MaintenanceSite info, housekeeping (cache, permalinks), the audit log, and developer tools“What changed on the site this week?” / “Flush the cache”

The agent also has a Notes capability — the persistent knowledge, feedback, and operator-instruction system. Because it’s central to how you work with an agent over time, it has its own coverage in The Notes System and across the Operator Guide, rather than a page here.

Availability

A few domains depend on other plugins being active — WooCommerce abilities need WooCommerce, Analytics needs Maxi Web Analytics, and SEO needs Yoast SEO. Where that’s the case, the relevant page says so. AI Generation also needs at least one provider API key set up first (see Add and Rotate Provider API Keys).
